Who are we?
Zeybek Academy is a zeybek academy operating in Amsterdam with the aim of keeping zeybek culture alive and teaching it correctly.
Our educational approach is based on sharing zeybek's manner, posture, music, culture, and story beyond just the figures.
Our Founding Story
Zeybek has always been part of my life. Being from Aydın, I grew up intertwined with zeybek since childhood.
In 2017, I started professionally learning and dancing zeybek. I started teaching in 2020. When I moved to Amsterdam in 2022, the idea of dancing and teaching zeybek here too was born. I started the first lessons in 2023.
Zeybek Academy is the natural continuation of this journey and love of zeybek.
Our Vision
To contribute to the correct, respectful, and powerful recognition of zeybek culture outside Turkiye and to try to bring zeybek dance to the place it deserves internationally.
