In our lessons, while learning traditional figures correctly, we also discover the posture of zeybek and the culture behind it. Because dancing zeybek well is not just knowing the steps, but being able to understand the character of zeybek.

We can also provide private lessons in English for couples who don't speak Turkish.
Get Info on Private LessonsSo far we have participated in Turkish Consulate and Embassy events, May 19th events, Turkish culture/food events, and many weddings.
Zeybek on stage
We encourage students who have reached a good level to participate in performances at weddings and Turkish cultural events on a voluntary basis.
A rehearsal is held before the performance for students who can dance at least three dances well. Participation in performances is not mandatory; however, we believe stage experience is a very different and valuable experience for students.

Zeybek has always been part of my life. Being from Aydın, zeybek was a natural part of my life from childhood. Seeing and hearing zeybek at weddings, parks, special events – even sometimes at the market – was an ordinary thing in everyday life.
I have been professionally learning and dancing zeybek since 2017. I started teaching in 2020. After moving to Amsterdam in 2022, I asked myself: 'Why shouldn't I dance zeybek here too, why shouldn't I teach it?'
I started giving the first zeybek lessons in Amsterdam in 2023. Zeybek Academy emerged as the natural continuation of this process.
The aim is actually very simple: I love dancing zeybek very much. I want to teach it to people who want to learn and dance together with everyone.
Because for me, zeybek is much more than a dance. A posture, a personality, a character.
